The strongest person is not who can lift up a big rock or defeat a strong opponent. The Prophet (ﷺ) says that he is who can control his anger.
A hadith from Abu Hurairah (may Allah blesses him), that Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) said:
لَيْسَ الشَّدِيدُ بِالصُّرَعَةِ، إِنَّمَا الشَّدِيدُ الَّذِي يَمْلِكُ نَفْسَهُ عِنْدَ الْغَضَبِ
“The strong is not the one who overcomes the people. But, he is the one who controls himself while in anger” [Sahih al-Bukhari].
So, be cool, be patient, when you are angry. Don’t do something that unnecessary. It is hard to hold up. But when you can do that, then you just as what the Prophet (ﷺ) said.
May Allah gives us ability to control our anger. Aameen!
