The Month Of Ramadan Is Full Of Virtues

Soon Ramadhan will arrive. A noble guest who has many virtues. Hopefully knowing that these virtues become a whip for us to be able to reap the goodness of Ramadan as much as possible and not neglect.

A blessed month

Ramadan is a blessing month. The Prophet -Sallallahu’alaihi Wasallam- said:

You have come to the month of Ramadan, a month full of blessings. Allah has obliged fasting to you in it, the gates of heaven are opened, the gates of hell are closed and shackled by the lawless demons. in it there is a better month than a thousand months, whoever is hindered from the goodness of Ramadan, then he is blocked (from goodness)“(Narrated by An-Nasa’i no. 2105. dishahihkan Al Albani in Shahih An Nasa’i).

Blessing means goodness that continues to grow and last. An Nawawi said:

The meaning of blessing is to increase the kindness and endurance, and be able to enjoy the goodness” (Sharah Sahih Muslim lin Nawawi, 13/206).

The month of the Qur’an was revealed

Allah -Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala- said:

The month of Ramadân in which was revealed the Qur’ân, a guidance for mankind and clear proofs for the guidance and the criterion (between right and wrong). So whoever of you sights (the crescent on the first night of) the month (of Ramadân i.e. is present at his home), he must observe Saum (fasts) that month, and whoever is ill or on a journey, the same number [of days which one did not observe Saum (fasts) must be made up] from other days. Allâh intends for you ease, and He does not want to make things difficult for you. (He wants that you) must complete the same number (of days), and that you must magnify Allâh [i.e. to say Takbîr (Allâhu-Akbar; Allâh is the Most Great) on seeing the crescent of the months of Ramadân and Shawwâl] for having guided you so that you may be grateful to Him” (Al Baqara: 185).

This verse says that Qur’an was first revealed in the month of Ramadan. As with other verses:

“Verily! We have sent it (this Qur’ân) down in the night of Al-Qadr” (Al Qadr: 1).

Also the word of Allah Ta’ala:

We sent it (this Qur’ân) down on a blessed night [(i.e. night of Qadr, Sûrah No: 97) in the month of Ramadân,, the 9th month of the Islâmic calendar]. Verily, We are ever warning [mankind that Our Torment will reach those who disbelieve in Our Oneness of Lordship and in Our Oneness of worship]” (Ad Dukhan: 3)

Imam Ibn Kathir explained, “Allah Ta’ala praised the month of Ramadan among other months. That is by choosing it as the month of the revelation of the Qur’an Al Azhim “(Tafsir Ibn Kathir, 1/501)

Even in addition to the Qur’an, Ramadan is also the month that the books of Allah were revealed before. Imam Ibn Kathir proposes this, namely the words of the Prophet –Shallallahu’alaihi Wasallam– :

Shuhuf Ibrahim was revealed on the first night of Ramadan. The law was revealed on the 7th night of Ramadan. The gospel was revealed on the 14th night of Ramadan. Whereas Al Qur’an was revealed on the 25th night of Ramadan ”(validated by Al Albani in Silsilah Ash Shahihah, 1575).

Imam Ath Tabari brought narrations stating that the purpose of kan we sent him down (Al Qur’an) on the night of lailatul qadr is: Al Qur’an was revealed at night lailatul qadar from lauhul mahfudz to the sky of the world. As the history of Ibn ‘Abbas -radiallahu’anhu- :

“Al-Qur’an was revealed at once on the night of lailatul qadar in the month of Ramadan, to the sky of the world. Then after that if God wants to say something to the world, he (the Qur’an) is revealed from the sky of the world (part by part) until finally collected “(Tafsir Ath Thabari, no. 2818)

Ibn Abbas -radiallahu’anhu- also said:

“Allah revealed the Qur’an to the sky of the world on the night of lailatul qadar. Then after that if God wants to say something, He reveals it “(Tafsir Ath Thabari, no. 2816)

The month of worship is great, fasting

Allah -Ta’ala- said:

“The month of Ramadân in which was revealed the Qur’ân, a guidance for mankind and clear proofs for the guidance and the criterion (between right and wrong).

The Prophet -Sallallahu’alaihi Wasallam- also said:

“You have come to the month of Ramadan, a month full of blessings. Allah has obliged fasting for you in it … “(Narrated by An-Nasa’i no. 2105. validated by Al Albani in Shahih An Nasa’i).

And fasting is a vague worship that is a great worship and is one of the pillars of Islam.

There is Lailatul Qadar

The Prophet -Sallallahu’alaihi Wasallam- said:

“… in it (Ramadhan) there is a better month than a thousand months …” (Narrated by An-Nasa’i no. 2105. Validated by Al Albani in Shahih An Nasa’i).

The Prophet Sallallahu’alaihi Wasallam also said:

“Look for lailatul qadar in the last ten nights of Ramadan” (Narrated by Bukhari no. 2020, Muslim no. 1169).

And the night of Lailatul Qadar is immeasurable. Allah Ta’ala said:

“The night of Al-Qadr (Decree) is better than a thousand months (i.e. worshipping Allâh in that night is better than worshipping Him a thousand months, i.e. 83 years and 4 months). Therein descend the angels and the Rûh [Jibrael (Gabriel)] by Allâh’s Permission with all Decrees, Peace! (All that night, there is Peace and Goodness from Allâh to His believing slaves) until the appearance of dawn” (Al Qadr: 3-5).

There is forgiveness of sins

Rasulullah –Sallallahu’alaihi Wasallam –bersabda:

“The five daily prayers, and from Friday to the next Friday, and from the next Ramadan and Ramadan, eliminate the sins between the two, if they are shunned from the great sins” (Narrated by Muslim no. 233).

The door to heaven is opened, the door to hell is closed

The Prophet -Sallallahu’alaihi Wasallam- said:

“If the month of Ramadan comes, the gates of heaven are opened, the gates of hell are closed and demons are shackled.” (Narrated by Bukhari no.3277, Muslim no. 1079)

The Prophet -Sallallahu’alaihi Wasallam- also said:

“At the beginning of the night of Ramadan, demons and evil spirits are shackled, the gates of hell are closed, no door is opened. The door to heaven is opened, no one door is closed. Then Allah calls: ai O fans of goodness, get as much as possible, O fans of evil, hold on to yourself ’. Allah also gives deliverance from hell to His servants. And that happens every night ”(Narrated by Tirmidzi 682, validated by Al Albani in Shahih At Tirmidzi).

Ibn Bathal explained the meaning of the door of heaven opened and the door to hell closed there are two meanings:

“First, the gates of heaven are opened according to the Hadith. And the second meaning, the opening of the doors of heaven in the form of opening the opportunity to enter it, namely in the form of deeds that can be a cause to enter heaven such as prayer, fasting, and recitations of the Qur’an. And that the road to heaven in the month of Ramadan is made easier and the deeds of goodness in it are more likely to be received “(Explanation of Sahih Bukhari by Ibn Bathal, 4/20).

There is deliverance from hellfire

The Prophet -Sallallahu’alaihi Wasallam- said:

“In fact, every day and night of Ramadan from Allah there is liberation from hellfire. and for every Muslim there is a prayer that if he prays with him he will be blessed ”(Narrated by Ahmad 2/254, Al Bazzar 3142, Al Haithami said:” all the narrators are thiqah [trusted]”).

From this hadith we can understand that the deliverance from hellfire promised by Allah is on every Ramadhan day, not only in the final third of Ramadan as some people believe is based on the impossible hadith.

All prays will be granted

Ramadan in general is the month the prayer is granted. The Prophet -Sallallahu’alaihi Wasallam- said:

“In fact, every day and night of Ramadan from Allah there is liberation from hellfire. and for every Muslim there is a prayer that if he prays with him he will be blessed ”(Narrated by Ahmad 2/254, Al Bazzar 3142, Al Haithami said:” all the narrators are thiqah”).

Besides that, the person who fasted Ramadan, his prayer was blessed by Allah. The Prophet Sallallahu’alaihi Wasallam said:

‘”There are three prayers that are not rejected. Prayers for people who fast until they break their fast, pray for a fair leader and pray for those who are wronged (Tirmidhi no.2528, Ibnu Majah no.1752, Ibnu Hibban no.2405, validated by Al Albani in Shahih At Tirmidzi).

Hopefully we can meet with the month of Ramadan and reap as much goodness as possible from the month of Ramadan. Because people who meet Ramadhan but are not successful in getting Allah’s forgiveness are very outrageous and God will add adzab. Prophet Sallallahu’alaihi Wasallam said:

“Indeed Gabriel met me and said: whoever meets the month of Ramadan but is not forgiven of his sins, so he goes to hell, then Allah will keep him away (plus his adzab), say ‘Amen’. Then I will say: Amiin “(Narrated by Ibnu Hibban no. 907, validated by Al Albani in Shahih Al Jami ‘no. 75).

Wabillahi at taufiq was sadaad.
