The Death of Heart

death of heart

Like the body, heart also can die. The body can hurt, the same thing, the heart can be sick and weak. So we should pay attention to our hearts so its stay alive, health and not dying.

Ibnu Qayyim says,

“Most of humans fear the death of their bodies, and do not care about the death of their hearts”

He also says:

“Things that make our heart well and alive: doing a lot of dhikr (remembering Allah), turn to Allah, leaving sins. Also don’t neglect our heart, don’t let our heart bound to despicable morality or desires. Because these all will break your heart or weaken it. The more you let them stay in your heart, the weaker it is, until it finally dies”.

He also says:

“The sign of the death of your heart is, you can no longer know what is right and wrong, and you have no will to forbid evil “

[Madariju As-Salikin].

Well said from Ibnul Qayyim.
