Try to always finish your food, don’t let it remain. Even your food that has fallen to the floor, if it can still be cleaned, then take it. Maybe the blessings are there.
In a hadith from Anas bin Malik (may Allah blesses him), he says:
كان رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم إذا أكل طعاماً، لعق أصابعه الثلاث، وقال:”إذا سقطت لقمة أحدكم فليأخذها، وليمط عنها الأذى، وليأكلها،ولا يدعها للشيطان” وأمرنا أن نسلت القصعة وقال: ”إنكم لا تدرون في أي طعامكم البركة
When the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) finished eating his food, he would lick his three fingers (i.e., the forefinger, the middle finger and the thumb). The Prophet says, “If anyone of you drops a morsel, he should remove anything harmful from it! And, then eat it. He should not leave it for Shaitan (devil)”. The Prophet commands us to clean out the dish by saying, “You do not know in what portion of your food the blessing lies”. [Saheeh Muslim].
Shaykh Khalid as Sabt says: “this is a command from the Prophet ﷺ. A person should not despise and not rise, and a person should not say: “I do not need it at all, the food is plenty”. It is the attainment of the blessing. Sometimes the blessing is on that part of food. This is first thing. If a person eats a lot of food and there is no Allah’s blessing on it, then his body will not get benefits from it, and he will not be satisfied. The second thing, he leaves that food to the devil”.
