We all do so much sins. And of course we do so much repentance also.
The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:
بَنِي آدَمَ خَطَّاءٌ وَخَيْرُ الْخَطَّائِينَ التَّوَّابُونَ
“Every son of Adam commits sin, and the best of those who commit sin are those who repent’” [at Tirmidhi. Shaikh al Albani says this hadith is hasan].
But how do we know that our repentance is accepted by Allah?
Shaykh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyah (may Allah have mercy on him) said,
When a person repents sincerely and Allah accepts it, He will raise him in status until he becomes greater than he was before, as one of the early generations said: If repentance were not the dearest of things to Him, He would not test with sin the dearest of people to Him.[Majmoo‘ al-Fataawa, 10/293].
