Many people underestimate the effort of removing harm from the road. But FYI, this deed considered as a great deed in Islam.
A hadith from Abu Hurairah (may Allah blesses him), that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:
“Whilst a man was walking on the road, he found a thorny branch on the road, so he removed it. Allah appreciated that and forgave him” [Sahih Muslim].
The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) also said:
“Faith has over seventy branches or over sixty branches, the most excellent of which is the declaration that there is no god but Allah, and the humblest of which is the, removing harm from the path: and modesty is the branch of faith” [Sahih Muslim].
So, don’t underestimate this deed, and don’t hesitate to do it.
Also, don’t throw your trash in the road for it can be considered as harming the people who are passing the road. Because, it is not a believer’s attitude.
