In the afterlife, people will feel sorry for their lack of good deeds. They will also regret not giving enough charity. And they ask for a second chance in the world so they can give charity.
Allah ﷻ says:
“And spend of what Allah has granted you by way of sustenance before death should come to any of you and he should say: ‘Lord, why did You not defer my return for a while so that I might give charity and be among the righteous?'” [al-Munafiqun, 63:10].
Sadaqa (charity) in this verse has two meanings. Some scholars say it is obligatory charity (zakah) and some say it is all kind of charity commonly.
So people, instead feeling regret later in the hereafter for lack of charity. Now, as long as we have many chance to do it, let’s give a lot of charity to people in need.
