Ruqya is one of Islamic therapy taught by Al Quran and hadith. But, how to do ruqya by yourself?
Noble Shaykh Shalih Al Ushaimi replied this question, he said:
In the authentic hadith from Shahihain, the hadith of Aisha radhiallahu’anha , if the person wants to ruqya himself, he does it by combining his two palms, then reciting the verses of the Qur’an whatever he wants.
And the best is to recite the Qur’anic verses referred to in the hadith, namely Surat Al Ikhlas and Mu’awwizatain (An Naas and Al Falaq) then blow 3 times to both palms, so blow after reading the Qur’an to unite between a quite amount of saliva and recitation of the Qur’an.
Then he rubbed what was in front of him or that he was able to wipe, or on the part that was sick if he intended to ruqya certain parts of the sick.
He can also read the Ayatul Kursi or other verses in the same way.
The hadith referred to are as follows, from Aisha radhiallahu’anha, she said:
“The Prophet sallallaahu aih alaihi wasallam blew to himself with al mu’awwidzat (prayers of protection) when he was sick that this sickness brought him to death. When his pain got worse, I was the one who blew him with al mu’awwidzat and I wiped it with his own hands because of the blessings of his hands “(Narrated by Al-Bukhari no. 5735 and Muslim no. 2192).
