Be in this world as if you were a traveler. Just passing by and not intending to stay long.
Everyone that just passes by in a place, he will not gather everything at that place to stay long. But he will take a rest a moment, then prepare everything for the journey to the real course.
Abdullah bin Umar said, “The Prophet (ﷺ) took hold of my shoulder and said,
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ took me by the shoulder and said, “Be in this world as though you were a stranger or a traveler” .
And Ibn Umar used to say,
“In the evening do not expect [to live until] the morning, and in the morning do not expect [to live until] the evening. Take [advantage of] your health before times of sickness, and [take advantage of] your life before your death” [Bukhari].
So, be like a traveler. Be prepare for the real journey to the Hereafter.
